Niña Pastori is the flamenco singer who has combined better than anyone the purity of her voice with new musical trends. At the age of 8 she climbed for the first time on stage. When she was just 12 years old, Camarón de la Isla, the greatest legend of flamenco noticed her and presented her in Andalucía theater of Cadiz as one of the future exponents of flamenco.
In 1996 her first album " Entre dos Puertos " was released , an album that marked the evolution of new flamenco and became an unprecedented success. Two successful albums followed to this work: " Eres Luz" (1998) and Cañailla (2000 ) . But it was with her album " Maria " in 2002 where the most experimental side of the artist begun, since then she became author and composer with her husband and producer J. Jimenez " Chaboli “ of most of the songs they published. In 2005 she released " No hay quinto malo " and this was followed by “Joyas prestadas" (2006 ) , “Esperando verte" (2009 ) and " La orilla de mi pelo" (2011 ), all of them with a great success.
In April 2014 Niña Pastori surprised her audience, once again, with "Raiz " , a project shared with Mexican singer Lila Downs and Argentina Soledad Pastorutti. An album where the voices of three different cultures mix but with only one way of feeling, throughout music.
In 2003 she had the most massive performance of her career on her acclaimed performance Shubert’s Ave Maria before Pope Juan Pablo II in front of a million feverish believers. Three years later, she started her journey through foreign lands with her album “Joyas prestadas”, undertaking a successful tour in Mexico , Chile, Peru , Venezuela , Colombia and Argentina . She won the gold award in the latest two countries.
She has been nominated for the Latin Grammy five times, and she has won the award three times. She has also won twice in the category of Best Flamenco Album, in 2009 with “Esperando verte " and in 2011 with “La orilla de mi pelo" and she won once in the category of Best Folk Album with "Raiz" in 2014 .
Throughout her entire career she has had important collaborations with artists like Alejandro Sanz, Carlos Santana, Joaquín Sabina and Vicente Amigo among others , and she has participated in two films, “Fugitivas” Miguel Hermosilla and “Flamenco, Flamenco” by Carlos Saura.
She is the first flamenco artist to be nominated for the American Grammy for “Raiz", album considered the Best Latin album by the Billboard list 2014.
All her albums have been awarded with gold and platinum disc and she has sold over two million copies . Niña Pastori is definitely a consecrated artist with one of the greatest musical career and a personal and unmistakable signature.
